Scavenger Hunt Ideas – How it all started

My daughter and me being silly

Hi my name is Fern,

and I love to organize Scavenger Hunts and come up with new Scavenger Hunt Ideas.

I have been collecting a whole bunch of scavenger hunt ideas through out the last couple of years for adults, teens and kids alike.

At one point a friend of mine gave me the idea to put up a website with a collection of the best scavenger hunt ideas we did.

You were probably searching the internet looking for Scavenger Hunt Ideas and scavenger hunt lists – now let me tell you, you’ve come to the right place!

Feel free to browse around my site, it will give you tons of great ideas for your Scavenger Hunt – I also included a couple of Scavenger Hunt Lists and a fun scavenger hunt Video.

Now, if you don’t want to waste any precious spare time to plan and set up a fun scavenger hunt, I am going to let you in on my personal secret.

I will tell you, how you can get a scavenger hunt underway in a matter of minutes.

While searching the internet for fun Scavenger Hunt Ideas, just like you did, a while back I came across a neat website, which generates Scavenger Hunts for all age groups and themes in just minutes.

Do you think you can get a scavenger hunt up and running in less than 5 minutes?

If you would like to check it out for yourself, then

Or watch the video below to see the features they offer.

When I gave a copy of Riddle Me to my Brother the other day to see if it would help him, he came back with Glowing Reports. Check this out.

Wow, I didn’t realize how easy it was to entertain the tribe… All it took was five minutes to gather the items and hide them around the place. That software [Riddle Me] did the rest for me. Wow. Thanks heaps, sis.”

Now all I need to say is that my brother is not the most creative person around and he has always shied away from these sort of games because of it. But now the kids love him even more thanks to the fun of a scavenger hunt.

Here are the reasons, why I love and recommend this software:

  • You can generate and print out a Scavenger Hunt in a matter of minutes
  • You can use it to create a scavenger hunt for all age groups
  • It gives you ideas for tons of objects for inside and outside scavenger hunts
  • It has thousands of riddle clues
  • You can even create your own riddles
  • Create and print invitations and thank you cards
  • It won’t blow the bank (in fact it’s less than a twenty)
  • They have a 60 Day Money Back Guarantee!!

So don’t waste any more time than you need to, trying to entertain the tribe. Get yourself a copy of Riddle Me and enjoy all the extra time you have.

Don’t forget to post some feedback on my site on how you liked it, but I sure hope, you enjoy the Scavenger Hunt Ideas software as much as I do.

Scavenger Hunt vs Treasure Hunt

This question is asked a lot and normally I get yelled at when I answer it because I believe there is no major difference between the two. One will have people collect things along the way and the other they will mark or record something about the clue along the way. Thats my definition and I am sticking to it :-) .

Do you think this is right? Post a comment and let us know what you think.

Photo Scavenger Hunt List

If you’re looking for a great bonding activity for your family reunion, staff retreat, group event or any get-together then this Photo Scavenger Hunt idea is the perfect one for you. All you have to do is to divide the group into even teams, provide them with cameras and their copy of the list they will act out below.

You also have to set the place and time when the game should be over. It is up to you to set the boundaries where they should accomplish the tasks or don’t set any boundaries at all. Nevertheless, you have to keep in mind the safety of each participant, especially younger ones.

Have one of your group members photograph each of the following scenes as you act them out. The more creative the better.

1. A rock band.

2. Fashion magazine pose.

3. “With great power comes great responsibility”

4. Fans behind a railing spotting their favorite celebrity.

5. “The tribe has spoken…”

6. Passengers jammed in a subway train.

7. Another day at the office.

8. A scene from the Bible.

9. Drowzy animals in the Zoo.

10. Hungry yet happy.

11. Spell the word “HELP” using every team member as letters.

12. Ballerinas

13. Protest against cafeteria food.

14. Club scene.

15. Alien Versus Predator

Make sure that every team member gets to participate in the acting, so take turns at the camera.

Indoor Scavenger Hunt

Scavenger Hunts don’t always have to take place in an open space where participants run and race to get the tasks accomplished. Nobody said participants can’t enjoy a hunt without physically racing.

As a party thrower, there are lots of factors beyond your control that could get in the way of your organized outdoor activity. Weather, for one, can be very unpredictable. You never know when there’s going to be a downpour on the day and time you set for the hunt. So instead of engaging people in a fun activity, you get a bunch of bored and irritated guests. That’s just one reason. Another would be that if you or the participants of your hunt are not big fans of the outdoors, then an indoor scavenger hunt is for you. Sometimes a simple lack of open space or accessibility to it does not help. But don’t let it get in the way of a fun-filled activity. You just need a little bit of creativity in order to make your Scavenger Hunt a success.
